  abstract  = {In the present work, the event industry is presented in its various forms and with its various par-ticipants in the market. It explains the different types of events and explains the forms of planning and designing events. Then the text examines the effects of digitisation on society, the economy, and finally the event industry. The multitude of possibilities, as well as the challenges the industry faces in this context, are cited. The question of whether the industry can profit from these oppor-tunities can be answered in the affirmative as it is clearly shown that there are many great and good opportunities to move the event into completely new and unexpectedly effective areas. Nev-ertheless, the development also brings Threats, because this is partly associated with a high tech-nical and financial effort. All in all, the company is advised to slowly adapt to the changes and to plan carefully to safely carry out the digital transformation.},
