N2  - In the following paper, the term of Work Incapacity Periods, more commonly known as Sick leave, is analyzed and related terms are distinguished from it. Through an extensive examination of the subject, the causes for this phenomenon are to be found. Additionally, an analysis of the German economy examines the current situation of Work Incapacity Periods in different areas. Concluding, measures to minimize these times of employee disability are to be proposed.
