Using the example of previous revolutions we see that the effects of a revolution are enormous. It concerns not only the industry but also has consequences for the people. What impact will this revolution have on the society?
This thesis will seek to identify what Industry 4.0 is. A brief introduction with information about the first, second and third revolution and the road to Industry 4.0. What technolog-ical requirements need to implement for Industry 4.0. In this way CPS is explained as well as what it is the term "Internet of Things". In detail, it addresses what Industry 4.0 means specifically for process automation. Some examples will be shown how far the fourth industrial revolution has arrived already in the daily production.
