N2  - Die Masterarbeit soll zur unabhängigen und ergebnisoffenen Aufklärung zur Thematik der Organspende beitragen. Aus diesem Grund ist sie leicht verständlich verfasst. Sie gibt Informationen zur Organspende und einen Überblick zur aktuellen Debatte des Hirntodkonzeptes.
Internationale wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse zum Hirntod und der Hirnforschung werden durch Literaturrecherchen präsentiert und zusammenhängend ausgewertet. In der Arbeit wird das Defizit der internationalen Zusammenarbeit zur Forschungsthematik erkennbar. 
Die Notwendigkeit einer unabhängigen und ergebnisoffenen Beratung wird ersichtlich. Ein visionärer Ausblick zeigt Möglichkeiten auf, wie diese Beratung in das vorhandene Netz der Beratungsstellen integriert werden könnte.
N2  - This master thesis wants to contribute to an independent consultation  without any
predetermined results on the topic organ donation. Therefore, it was written in a basic and easy to understand style. It will provide information on the topic organ donation as well as a general survey on the current debate about brain death criterion. Internationally known scientific results on the topics brain death and brain research will be presented based on literature research, and in conclusion will be coherently evaluated. The lack of international cooperation on this topic will be shown in the course of this master thesis. 
Furthermore, the necessity of an independent consultation will become evident. A visionary outlook wants to point out various options how this consultation could be incorporated in the already existing network of counselling services.
