• Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Phänomen Filmtourismus, der definiert wird und dessen Entstehung und Hintergründe erklärt werden. Zusätzlich wird auf die unterschiedlichen Formen der Tourismusart eingegangen. Anschließend folgt eine Analyse zur Bedeutung von Filmen und TV-Serien als Marketingwerkzeuge für den Tourismus - welches Potenzial haben sie, und in welcher Weise können sie am sinnvollsten zu Marketingzwecken verwendet werden. Anhand der Beispiele der „Herr der Ringe“-Filmreihe und der TV-Serie „Game of Thrones“ werden die Effekte von Filmen und TV-Serien auf den Tourismus aufgezeigt. Der Fokus liegt hier auf den Veränderungen an den jeweiligen Drehorten.
• The paper deals with the phenomenon of film tourism. It is specified, its origin and background is explained. Additionally the different forms of this kind of tourism are introduced. An analysis of the meaning of films and TV-shows as marketing tools for tourism follows with the question − which potential do they have and how can they be wisely used for marketing purposes. On the basis of the film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” and the TV-show “Game of Thrones” the effects of those kind of media on tourism are illustrated. The focal point is on the changes concerning the film locations.
