Burnout prevention measures for managers as part of occupational health management : a systematic overview of the current state of research

  • This paper deals with burnout prevention measures for managers as part of occupational health management. The aim is to provide a systematic overview of the previous research results and findings on the topic. It is purely a literature study in which secondary literature is evaluated. The paper deals with the question of which measures exist within the framework of a company's occupational health management that can prevent burnout especially for managers. To do this, a theoretical framework is first created for the topics of burnout, health and managers, as these are closely related to answering the reasearch question. This is followed by a discussion of the role of the managers themselves in the implementation of the measures and successful burnout prevention, and how a occupational health management system must be designed so that the measures identified for managers can have a burnout-preventive and healthpromoting effect. The thesis will come to the conclusion that the burnout prevention measures for managers can only be effective if, on the one hand, the corporate health management of a company is holistic and sustainable and, on the other hand, if the managers develop an awareness of the burnout problem affecting them from their decisive role, accept it and are prepared to act actively for the purpose of their health.
