• This thesis is about the characteristics of successful movies in Germany. This implies movies of all nations watched in German theatres. At first there will be a look in the history of filmmaking and its beginning until today. Successful movies means movies, which accomplished a high amount of visitors or money paid for. The films of the last 15 years will be valued and the best six of them will be analysed. There will be a simple look at their characteristics and a protocol. The top two of them will also be considered with a deeper look and will get a full scene-protocol. Furthermore the author asked nearly 400 people about their preferences of watching movies. All of the results will be compared and will lead to some characteristics. It shows that there are mostly American movies with a certain genre. The characteristics we got are not a guaranty but a good lead.
