• Das Sujet des Antikriegsfilms und dessen schwer greifbare Geltungsansprü-che gestalten eine eindeutige Genreeinordnung diffizil. Anhand des Films "Apocalypse Now" wird die divergierende Wirkung, die ein Antikriegsfilm in seiner Rezeption hat, analysiert. Durch seine dichte Atmosphäre und visuelle Ästhetik vermittelt der Film sowohl kriegskritische als auch kriegsaffirmative Botschaften. Ziel der Arbeit ist, die filmästhetischen Mittel, die narrativen Struk-turen und die unterschiedlichen Einflüsse der Filmemacher zu analysieren, um dessen Platz im Genredschungel des (Vietnam-)Anti/-Kriegsfilms zu be-stimmen.
• The subject of the anti-war film and its elusive claims to validity make a clear genre classification difficult. The film "Apocalypse Now" is used to analyse the divergent effects that an anti-war film has on its reception. Through its dense atmosphere and visual aesthetics, the film conveys both war-critical and war-affirmative messages. The aim of the work is to analyse the film aesthetic means, the narrative structures and the different influences of the filmmakers in order to determine its place in the genre jungle of the (Vietnam-) anti/-warfilm.
