• In this thesis I will analyse media effects, like agenda-setting, agenda-cutting, framing and priming on the basis of a case, where Bavarian members of parliament employed their family members to work for them on the costs of the taxpayers. Overall I want to examine, if these media effects can be proved in this case. Therefore I want to analyse the behaviour of the media, of the different parties and of single politicians concernig this affair. I also want to define the term „political scandal“ and find out out, if it can be applied to the „Verwandtenaffäre“.
