Das Makro-SLM ist eine Weiterentwicklung des etablierten laser-pulverbettbasierten 3D-Drucks von Metallbauteilen (auch SLM oder L-PBF). Durch die Steigerung von Laserleistung, Spotdurchmesser, Schichtdicke und Pulverkorngröße werden Strukturauflösung im Millimeter- statt wie üblich im Mikrometer-Bereich erzeugt. Dies wiederum ermöglicht eine enorme Steigung der Aufbaurate bis aktuell 1.300 cm³/h. Es ähnelt damit den Strukturauflösungen und Aufbauraten beim Auftragschweißen. Das stützende Pulverbett bietet jedoch den Vorteil komplexere Geometrien zu realisieren. Makro-SLM vereint damit die Vorteile beider Welten: hohe Gestaltungsfreiheit bei gleichzeitig hoher Produktivität. Ziel ist es, mit dem Makro-SLM komplexe, endkonturnahe Metallbauteile in Kubikmeter-Dimensionen herstellen. In der vorliegenden Veröffentlichung werden das neue Anlagenkonzept erläutert und prozesstechnische sowie mechanische Kennwerte benannt. Abschließend werden verschiedene aktuelle Anwendungen vorgestellt und ein Ausblick zu den geplanten Entwicklungen gegeben.
