Investigating the Effectiveness and Stability of Conformal Cooling Channels in Injection Moulds
(2024)
This paper examines the integration of conformal cooling channels into micro injection moulds using advanced techniques such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM) to improve production efficiency while reducing operating temperatures. It takes into account the essential characteristics of stability. The study aims to carry out pressure studies using simulations to evaluate the impact on the mould.
Selective Laser Melting (SLM) is a proposed manufacturing technique of the future that enables the production of complex geometries with minimal material wastage. This technique allows for the creation of force-optimized structures that can save even more material. The properties of SLM-printed metals differ from rolled or cast material. This paper proposes a concept for force and weight optimization using simulation and real-world data.
Water treatment is becoming increasingly important. There are still countries where drinking water is not available. Various parameters have to be checked and removed, not least new and the constantly increasing number of bacteria. For this purpose, a prototype system has been developed that can be adapted to the conditions and use by combining different modules for water treatment and analysis. It also serves as a test platform for experimental sensors and test setups.
