No other sport brings people from different social classes like football and the love of a football club togehter. 11 players and their supporters as the 12th player, strengthening their team from behind, expressing the deep bond form their entire club in every match. Many football supporters describe their club as their familiy and the centre of their life. At the present time the biggest challenge for the German Football League and the teams in the German Bundesliga is to keep on track and that normality for the supporters ins maintained. This is not an easy undertaking as the pressure to succeed and the associated economic influences are not insignificant
Der Prozess der Kommerzialisierung im deutschen Profifußball hat ein rasantes Tempo entwickelt. Jährlich werden neue Rekordsummen für Spielertransfers bezahlt, Investoren erwerben Anteile an Fußballvereinen und die Bundesliga hofft ab 2017 durch die
Vermarktung der Medienrechte auf Einnahmen über eine Milliarde Euro. Der Zweitligist FC St. Pauli bildet den Kontrast zum modernen Fußballgeschäft, insbesondere die politisch linke Fanszene. Diese Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit den Perspektiven des Hamburger Traditionsvereins im deutschen Profifußball. Dafür wurde zunächst die ökonomische Entwicklung der Bundesliga dargelegt sowie der Kult um den FC St. Pauli erläutert. Mit Hilfe von Experteninterviews wurden Potenziale und Risiken des FC St. Pauli analysiert, welche die Prognose zulassen, dass St. Paulis Modell als sehr fanorientierter Klub zukünftig wettbewerbsfähig sein kann.
